This is all you can come up with? Just some bum who played well in one challenger event. This is disappointing stuff. LOL

*fyi this is going off in a couple of minutes after Bogdanovic's retirement.

What about Querrey/Fish?

Stepanek -163
Bastl +550

Safin has bad losses in La in past, doesnt really care, George went to SC. Stepanek the check playing well last tourney, Fish backhand weak.

Safin had huge problems against Capdeville in the first round, after it looked Safin cruises to the win Capdeville started to play. Safin saved seven breakpoints in the last set but managed to win the tiebreak. Surely there lies huge value in the odds of Bastl.

Good luck.

you mean Guccione not Capdeville right? Guccione has a big serve and I can imagine a currently weak Safin struggling to a win there. However Bastl has basically no weapons to frustrate Safin and imo its hard to see anything but a straight set win here.

Yeah, right. Guccione and not Capdeville. Not the first time I am mixing names, sorry. Guccione is also a lefty so it might be even harder to read his serves but and the biggest difficulties are usually at the start of the match but in Safin Guccione match Safin obviously got his serves well back at the start. I think Safin is partly in bad shape and partly something in his head, like Railbird said, doesnt really care. For example Safin had no problems against Qureshi in Wimbledon who is a big hitter but right now Safin is a total mess who can win almost anybody but to lose for everybody imo, sorry for writing my thoughts to your thread Railbird.

I know Safin has got a bad record at LA. The reasons stopping me from fading him are the lack of weapons from Bastl, as HPark1 said, and also that Safin actually has a great chance to get to the semis or final of this tournament. He's just had the managerial change which should provide, and he's seen a host of big seeds eliminated which should both provide some motivation. The year that he has had, he NEEDS to win a tournament. That's something that has been bugging him alot in the interviews I've read. He's clearly mentally unstable, but this offers a great chance of a tournament win to build on.
